To define / create a form application please complete the screen.
- Form Application: enter a name for the form you are creating. Do not use embedded blanks. Also enter a description which may contain embedded blanks.
- Form Size: Use F4 to prompt and select the size of the output form. This should match the form size used when creating the overlay in iMap or with MacMaker. Any printer used to print this form should support this paper size.
1 PAPER - Executive (7 1/2 x 10 1/2 in.) 2 PAPER - Letter(8 1/2 x 11 in.) 3 PAPER - Legal(8 1/2 x 14 in.) 6 PAPER - Ledger(11 x 17 in.) 17 PAPER - 16K 19 PAPER - 8K 25 PAPER - A5(148mm x 210mm) 26 PAPER - A4(210mm x 297mm) 27 PAPER - A3(297mm x 420mm) 80 ENVELOPE - Monarch (Letter - 3 7/8 x 7 1/2 in.) 81 ENVELOPE - Com-10 (Business - 4 1/8 x 91/2 in.)
- Collate: If the target printer supports collating and you wish to collate set this flag to 'Y' to put the collate opcode in the output data stream. This flag has no effect on any other output format. If one needs sorting / bursting for iMail or iFax use the sorting and bursting options associated with mapped fields.
- Use Mapped Fields Only : Normally this flag is set to 'Y', which limits output spool file mapping to just the defined mapped fields. If you set this flag to 'N' in addition to any defined mapped fields the entire spool file page will be written into the output. Thus, if the user wishes to output the entire page setting this field to 'N' and defining no mapped fields will cause the entire page to be output.
- Orient (P)ortrait or (L)andscape: Set as appropriate.
- Pages per Overlay (1-9): This value controls the number of spool file pages processed before a new page is generated in the output document. Normally this is set to 1, meaning that 1 page of output is created for every 1 page of input spool file.
- Front Map File: Name of the map file used for mapping to the front of the document, without file extension. You may use F4 to prompt for the document. If you have created a default form using iMap this value should have been specified by iMap. Map files are stored in the folder Formfmg, which is /qdls/formfmg in the /qdls file system.
- Back Map File : For duplex printing specify a map file name used to map spool data to the back page. If you created the mapping using iMap this value should have been placed in this field by iMap. You may use F4 to prompt for the name.
- X adjustment value: Enter a global offset for the X value of all output objects. Specify the offsets in pixels, at 300 pixels per inch. Negative values specify a left offset, positive values specify a right offset. Thus, an X adjustment value of -150 specifies a left offset of half an inch.
- Y adjustment value: Enter a global offset for the Y value of all output objects. Specify the offsets in pixels, at 300 pixels per inch. Negative values specify an offset towards the top of the page, positive values specify an offset towards the bottom of the page. Thus, an Y adjustment value of -150 specifies an offset of half an inch towards the top of the page.
- Front Side Overlay: Specify up to 9,999 overlays. Omit the .mac file extension. Each overlay will cause a separate page to be generated in the output document. You may use F4 to search for the overlay, which is stored in /qdls/formfmg. So for example, if one has an overlay for a customer invoice and an overlay for a file copy of the invoice, and one wishes to print both with the same invoice data, specify the customer invoice overlay on the first line and the file copy overlay on the second line. If no overlay is used (mapping only) specify *NONE.
- Seq #: Enter the order in which the overlays with mapped spool text should enter the output stream, i.e. the output print order.
- Drawer: Enter the drawer number from which the paper is to be drawn by the printer. This number is put in the output (pcl) data stream to the printer. iDocs does nothing further with it. The printer will interpret it as it wishes. Please consult printer documentation for the correct drawer number. Each printer, even ones from the same manufacturer, has it's own designation and it can be very confusing. See some specific printer examples below and be guided accordingly:
Printer Drawer Example: HP LaserJet M402 PCL Drawer Specification Actual Printer Drawer 1 1 (Top Drawer) 2 2 Manual Feed 3 3 Manual Feed 4 4 Manual Feed 5 2 (Bottom Drawer)
Printer Drawer Example: Ricoh Aficio MP5505 PCL Drawer Specification Actual Printer Drawer 8 1 1 2 4 3 7 4
Printer Drawer Example: Ricoh P 502 PCL Drawer Specification Actual Printer Drawer 1 2 2 2 3 2 4 2 5 2 8 1
Printer Drawer Example: Ricoh SP 4520DN PCL Drawer Specification Actual Printer Drawer 10 1 1 2 4 3
Additional Drawer Notes: A '1' in this field typically routes output to the default printer drawer. Drawer '7' is interpreted as auto-select on some printers. A 20-39 on some printers relates to High Capacity Input (HCI) trays 2- 21.
- Merge Data: Enter a 'Y' to merge spool data as defined in the mapping into the output stream. Enter a 'N' to output only the overlay. Typically set to 'Y' but may be set to 'N' to print pages with no variable content, such as standard terms.
- Back Side Overlay: Enter the overlay to use for duplex printing to be applied to the back of the document. If the output printer is not duplex capable or output is another format such as PDF then a second page will probably be generated. You may use F4 to search for the overlay, which is stored in /qdls/formfmg. Omit the .mac file extension.
- Tumble: Enter a 'Y' to specify tumbling to a tumble capable printer, otherwise leave blank.
- Merge Data (back side): Enter a 'Y' to merge mapped data to the back side of a duplex print job. Leave blank or enter a 'N' to prevent. A 'N' would typically be used for pages with no variable content such as standard terms.
- Form Prompt: Specify a form name for the output *USERASCII spool file or leave blank. If left blank the system default form type, usually *STD, will be used. Since *USERASCII spool files can not be viewed from the green screen it can be helpful to give the output spool files a form type so that a system operator will understand what they are and/or on what paper form they are to be printed.
- Destination Out Queue: Enter the name of the output queue into which the *USERASCII spool file output will be placed. This output queue must be in the library list of the user or engine at time of merge. Note: this will override the destination output queue if specified in an engine. Use F4 to prompt from a list. See Output Queue Key Words for a complete list of available keywords.
Function Keys:
- F2=Data Map: Start green screen mapping.
- F6=XLS Fnc: Used to configure Excel Templates. When *IFSXLS is used as destination queue, the IFS path should is defined in this option. (6.88)
- F7=Footer: Specify footer text to appear at the bottom of each output page.
- F8=Work with Mapped Fields: Work with existing mapped fields.
- F10=Extra Pages: Add a last page macro i.e. Terms & Conditions to a print job (iDocs 6.86 9/27/2016 enhancement).
- F9=Advanced Functions: Specify advanced form definition values.
- F15=Global Offset: Specify X and Y offsets for all iDocs applications.
- F17=Import Map: Refresh the mapping from an iMap map file. Not normally necessary since uploading mapping from iMap invokes this process automatically.
